My Ten Songs... 2nd Attempt

Ok this is my second attempt at this one, as you may know I spent a lot of time on this the other day and it got deleted. Anyway I'm listenin to my ten right now and figured I would go ahead and tell you why I chose the songs I did...

Rock With You- Classic Michael Jackson right here before the nose jobs, skin bleaching, monkeys, Neverland oh yeah and before the handjobs administered to preteens. At any rate this song takes me back to when I was livin in Chicago I can still remember hearin it on the radio in my granddad's 76 Caprice Classic. This song barely edged out "Butterflies" which is a classic as well.

Wildflower- My moms told me that my pops used to sing this song out on the corner back home and just the visual of that makes me kinda vibe to this joint. If your not familiar with this song you may recognize it from the Kanye sample on "Slow Jam" if I'm not mistaken. Classic 70's soul on this one gotta respect it.

Holding Back The Years- Yo this is a soulful ass white boy on this song. He was Jon B and Robin Thicke before they was even thinkin of singin! This song has a special meaning to me tho cause it held me down when I couldn't see my little girl. I used to put this on and just look at her pics all night long.

In A Sentimental Mood- Duke Ellington and Coltrane on the same joint!?!? Crazy jazz/big band collabo. I think this was featured on the Love Jones soundtrack. This is some straight cognac in a snifter music right here! You put this on when you tryna hit off a older broad or some shit. Wearin some silk PJ's and smokin a pipe in velvet monogrammed slippers. Gotta respect the visuals I just gave you...

Ain't No Half-Steppin- If you ever been around me when this song came on I'm sure I told you that this is the song that made me start emcee'n. Big Daddy Kane can still go to this day!! Plus he was in the video wit some bad ass broads at a time when you had to be Al B. Sure or Christopher Williams to get some ass...shout out the boy Big Daddy for helpin make dark skinned cats the shit! I owe you my nigga!!

I Know- Now this song is the shit for soooo many reasons. Most importantly to me because I love when someone takes an inanimate object and makes it human. In this case he was talkin about heroin but Nas and Pac also did it well on "I Gave You Power" and "Me and My Girlfriend" I am a big fan of Jigga so for a song he made so late in his career to make my shortlist says alot.

Darling Nikki- Prince itty bitty ass is the muthafuckin man for this one! He said he met the broad while she was masturbatin...IN PUBLIC! I love this song so much I married a girl named Nikki! Remember when he did this song in Purple Rain? You know what the illest part was? When ol girl realized he was talkin about her and she ran outta the club and Prince was like "Come Back Nikki Come Back!" Ahhhhhh I love that part!!! LOL Holla at me!

I Gotta Be- This song is my shit because its tasteful and not a slow song talkin about how they gonna slide some chick. Havin said that...you can definitely put this song on when you tryna slide some chick!!! Its special to me because it always made me think about my wife...of course we weren't together when it came out, but whenever I made a mixtape for her this was the lead off song. So take it from me make tapes for the girls you like you might get you some ass! Im livin proof!

Only You- I got put on to Portishead by my DJ back in 96...shout out to Blu-Paw Entertainment!!! This joint is the shit cause its got scratchin in a song it doesn't belong in and the DJ's cuts is SHARP! They got that shit all the way off!!! If you haven't heard of Portishead take my advice and check em out they are sofa king dope!! "Sour Times" and "Glory Box" are two other joints that are pretty slick...

Lover's Rock- Sade is one of baddest chicks on the planet! When I used to smoke weed, I would get high and throw her shit on. It dont get more chill than this this song is mellow to death! Plus babygirls voice is like honey on the track. I wanna get her PREGNANT out this muhfucka!
